At the Treasury Committee evidence session on insurance, Rushanara asked the Association of British Insurers re five UK insurers providing aviation fuel shipments to Burma, which is being used for air strikes by Burmese military against civilians. She highlighted that is crucial our insurance companies are not complicit in human rights violations.
She also asked about the conduct of loss adjustors and the use of delaying tactics, harming customers who have often gone through traumatic events. She urged the association of British insurers to look into a formal enquiry on the conduct of loss adjustors.
Finally, she asked about whether the travel insurance market was working for people with pre-existing health conditions. It was clear that this is an area where collaboration is needed with Government.
