It is a year on since the 2017 Burmese military attacks on the Rohingya people, which forced over 700,000 people to flee for refuge in Bangladesh and thousands were killed.

It is a year on since the 2017 Burmese military attacks on the Rohingya people, which forced over 700,000 people to flee for refuge in Bangladesh and thousands were killed.

Last week, a report by the UN Independent Fact Finding Mission called for Myanmar’s top military generals, including Commander-in-Chief, Min Aung Hlaing to be investigated and prosecuted for genocide in the north of Rakhine State, as well as for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Rakhine, Kachin and Shan States.
