On 28 September Rushanara Ali made a speech in a general debate on Covid-19. 

During the debate, Rushanara called on the government to get a grip on the test and trace system, and other urgent actions to protect people.

Whilst the pandemic has presented major health and economic challenges, Rushanara highlighted the devastating consequences of the government’s mishandling of the crisis.

Rushanara also raised the issue of the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on BAME communities. She urged the government to address this urgently to prevent further loss of lives.
