Rushanara has repeatedly questioned the Government on the ongoing EU-UK negotiations. Failure to secure a deal that protects rights, standards and guarantees frictionless trade will cause devastation to our economy and people’s lives.

On 9 June in response to my question during an urgent debate, the minister admitted that the Government are making plans in the event of no trade deal being agreed. No deal would spell disaster for UK firms and jobs.

A week later, during another urgent question, I sought assurances from the minister that there would be no disruption to our supply chains in the event of a No Deal Brexit. Despite huge risks of stockpiling and panic-buying by worried consumers, the minister was complacent in his response, which you can view below.
