“My thoughts are with all those who have been affected by the fire at Bentworth Court and Saint Matthew's Row in my constituency, especially those who have required medical assistance and been taken to hospital. I am very grateful to the firefighters, emergency services, the rescue centre at St Matthias Church, and the emergency team of officials who have responded to the fire and supported residents. The London Fire Brigade continues to investigate the cause of the incident.

I am extremely concerned that Tower Hamlets continues to experience fires on a regular basis. This is the fourth time a fire has taken place in my constituency since Grenfell. The Government continues to fail to heed our warnings on the need for support to deal with fire safety issues in the borough. We urgently need action from the national government to ensure all buildings in Tower Hamlets and across the country are safe from fire risks.
