On 25 November, the day before the Chancellor's Spending Review, Rushanara was interviewed on BBC Newsnight.
On the programme, the panellists were questioned on the current Covid-19 restrictions and the spending review with particular focus on the cuts to overseas aid.
Rushanara raised her concerns at the Government’s plans to reduce overseas aid funding in the middle of a global pandemic. she warned that not only will this harm some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, but will damage efforts to tackle Covid-19 and make us less safe here at home in the UK.
