On the 29th September, Rushanara Ali asked the Secretary of State for Education Gavin Williamson to explain the lack of Government preparations for the return of students to university. 

During this statement, Rushanara criticised the Government's handling of this summer exam results and, more recently, the level of safeguards in place to ensure students could attend university without increasing COVID-19 transmissions.

Rushanara called on the Government to get on with implementing an effective test and trace system so students can feel safe attending their new courses.
