On 16 December Rushanara attended an Urgent FCDO Question in the chamber. 

She urged the Government again to take action to end the persecution of Uyghurs Muslims in China, and the Rohingya in Myanmar.

Rushanara Ali MP said: 

"Inaction sends a dangerous message to repressive governments that ethnic cleansing and genocide are acceptable policy tools."
