On 16 December Rushanara Ali MP joined the Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK at a virtual celebration event to mark the 49th anniversary of Bangladesh Victory Day. 

Rushanara Ali MP said: 

"On this day, we remember all those who lost their lives in the War of Independence in 1971 and pay our respects to their memory."
