On 8 December Rushanara held an Adjournment debate on the arrests of Egyptian human rights advocates.
In November, Karim Ennarah, the husband of my constituent and his colleagues at the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) Mohamed Basheer and Gasser Abdel-Razek were detained and arrested.
In my debate, I urged the UK Government to take action against human rights abuses under the current Egyptian regime.
