Rushanara Ali MP warns of radicalisation threat posed by Ibrahim Magag

Rushanara Ali MP has questioned the Home Secretary Teresa May on Ibrahim Magag, a Somali-born British national who eluded authorities in December despite being subject to a terrorism prevention and investigation measure.

In Home Office Questions on Tuesday 8, Rushanara said: “Even if Magag does not pose a direct, imminent terror threat, as the Home Secretary claims, does she not accept that his presence in a city such as London is of great concern and risks radicalising young vulnerable people such as some in my constituency?”

The Home Secretary’s answer indicated that the police, the Security Service and other agencies are putting resources into trying to apprehend Mr Magag, but he remains at large.
