Brexit must not mean exit for Britain’s banks. That was the message to the Prime Minister this week from Rushanara Ali MP. Many major banks are threatening to relocate their British headquarters from Canary Wharf and the City of London to Dublin, Frankfurt or Madrid following the referendum to leave the EU. Rushanara Ali MP attends Boishakhi Mela 2016

On 31 July Rushanara joined Mayor John Biggs, local Councillors and thousands of Tower Hamlets residents in Weavers Fields for the Boishakhi Mela 2016. The Mela is a celebration of Bangla New Year, and is now the largest Bengali festival outside Bangladesh, attracting over 100,000 people from all over the country.
