EU Young Voters

Tower Hamlets has the highest proportion of permanent young residents in the UK, with more than a quarter of the population aged between 21 and 30. That’s why in May I joined Minister for Constitutional Reform John Penrose to meet young people from leadership development charity UpRising, in support of their cross-party campaign to encourage voter registration.

For young people in the UK the decision on whether we stay in the European Union will be the most important democratic choice of their lives, affecting their opportunities to work, travel and study within the EU.
