On 24 September 2020 Rushanara took part in a debate on the illegal annexation of the Occupied Palestinian territories 

During the debate on the Occupied Palestinian territories, Rushanara urged the UK government to do all it can to ensure there is a genuine peace process and two-state solution.

Rushanara said:

"Britain has a unique position and responsibility towards Israel and Palestine, and must do all it can to ensure a viable two-state solution. Threats of annexation by the Israeli government, and Trump’s plans set the hope of peace backwards not forward."
